CUHK Engineering Team won in the "New Energy New Generation" Solar Car Competition
The CUHK solar car team ("The CUE") - with all members from the CUHK Faculty of Engineering, was awarded the "Renewable Energy Capture & Conversion Efficiency Award" in the "New Energy New Generation" Solar Car Competition, organized by the Hong Kong Environment Bureau and Electrical & Mechanical Services Department (EMSD), in recognition of their outstanding performance. The team was led by Prof. Wei REN [Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering (MAE), CUHK], and supported by two MAE technical staffs Martin Leung and Cheuk Chi Ming. Other 7 tertiary teams participated included HKU, HKUST, PolyU and CityU.
The goal of the competition is to promote public awareness of renewable energy and energy efficiency, to arouse student's interests in renewable energy and engineering applications as well as to create platform for students to demonstrate their innovative engineering capability. The comptetition was held on 10 January 2016 in Hong Kong Science Park, Shatin.
