Prof. Dah Ming CHIU

 

Prof. Minghua CHEN

  • Prof. Chen's student, Mr Lu Lian, won a CUHK Faculty of Engineering Outstanding MPhil Thesis Award in 2014 for the work on energy general scheduling.
  • Prof. Chen's paper on online algorithm for energy efficient crowdsourced demand response was a Best Paper Award Candidate on ACM e-Energy 2016 (3 in total).
  • His paper on energy-efficient trucking was also a Best Paper Award Candidate on ACM e-Energy 2016 (3 in total).
  • He also received ACM Recognition of Service Award, 2017, for contribution to research community, in particular for serving as General Chair of ACM e-Energy 2017
  • CUHK Young Researcher Award, 2013
 

Prof. Jianwei HUANG 

  • IEEE Communications Society Distinguished Lecturer, 2015-2016.
  • His paper published in IEEE ICC 2017 was a Best Paper Award Finalist.
  • He also obtained the Thomson Reuters Highly Cited Researcher in Computer Science, 2016 (This award is based on his past high impact research papers, including those on smart grid economics.
  • IEEE Communications Society Distinguished Lecturer, 2015 – 2018 (He has been renewed for the second term of the Distinguished lecturer (2017-2018), due to his past research record and invited talk record, including those related to smart grid economics.)  
 

Prof. Angela Yingjun ZHANG

Prof. Zhao XU 

  • An heuristic optimal power flow algorithm entitled by the team of Prof. Zhao Xu has been selected as one of the five best algorithms for solving the complicated optimal power flow problem in power system operation in the IEEE Power & Energy Society General Meeting (27 - 31 July 2014) in Washington DC, USA.
  • The paper titled "A Hybrid Approach for k-way Partitions in Smart Grid based on Laplacian Spectrum and Self-Organizing Map" by the PhD student Mr Jia Youwei of Prof. Zhao Xu has been awarded as Third Prize in 2014 IEEE Hong Kong Student Paper Contest
  • The conference paper "Impacts of Large-scale Photovoltaic Generation Penetration on Power System Spinning Reserve Allocation" (J. Zhao, C. Wan, Z. Xu) obtained one of the Best Conference Papers submitted to the 2016 Power & Energy Society General Meeting, IEEE Power and Energy Society General Meeting (PES), Boston, July 2016. 
  • 2017年度高等學校科學研究優秀成果獎(科學技術) 一等獎
